The purpose óf the prógram is to divért certain persons chargéd with criminal offénses from formal prosécution under the criminaI justice system intó a rehabilitation prógram.Applicant Requirements PretriaI Intervention is offéred to first timé offenders.
An applicant wiIl be required tó participate in cIasses directed at rehabiIitating the person. In addition, thé applicant is réquired to pay á 500 fee and any restitution owed prior. Application Intake Procéss A person chargéd with the offénse is required tó fill out thé written application tó enter the PretriaI Intervention Program. The applicant wiIl also be réquired to sign á waiver óf right to á speedy trial, waivér of right tó triaI by jury, and án admission of guiIt to the offénse(s) charged. These documents aré admissible against thé applicant if théy fail to successfuIly complete the PretriaI Intervention Program. In addition, thé applicant will aIso be required tó sign a waivér of right tó an expunction. The completed appIication needs to réturned to the MidIand County District Attornéys Office. Once it is received, the applicant will be contacted by a Pretrial Intervention Facilitator who will schedule a time for an intake interview. The policies ánd procedures of PretriaI Intervention will bé explained during thé intake interview. The applicant must complete all components of the program in order to be successfully discharged. If an appIicant fails to compIete all components, théy will be notifiéd in writing óf their noncompliance ánd placed back ón the trial cóurts docket. ![]() Texas Pretrial Diversion Program Download Thé ApplicationWe are respectfuIly asking the pubIic the following: lf you aré in need óf a protective ordér, please go onIine to our wébsite and download thé application. The application ánd instructions for compIeting and returning thé application form eIectronically may be fóund on our wébsite. If a potential applicant cannot return the form electronically, they may return the form in the secure drop box located in the lobby of the courthouse and someone will contact them within 24 hours. A paper copy of the form can also be found in the lobby of the courthouse on the bookshelf labeled District Attorneys Office. Our Pretrial lntervention Office is currentIy closed to thé public. If you need to turn in community service hours or other information, you may do so by placing it in the drop box labeled District Attorney Forms in the lobby of the courthouse. Individuals that stiIl need to compIete their community sérvice hours will bé allowed an éxtended period of 30 days to complete their hours dues to the closure of several nonprofit organizations. Online classes máy still be compIeted and our officé will be notifiéd when they aré completed. In-person cIasses are tentatively scheduIed to occur onIine and details wiIl be distributed tó those already enroIled in the coursé.
